Notice shortening application form

Use this form to apply to BDM for a shortening of the one month notice period required before getting married in Australia.

You must also provide a completed and signed Notice of Intended Marriage form, and a letter from your chosen celebrant confirming that they are able and willing to perform your marriage on your chosen wedding date.

If you are getting married at the Victorian Marriage Registry, you can lodge your application for a shortening at the same time as you lodge your completed Notice of Intended Marriage form and your completed Victorian Marriage Registry booking form.
