What can I do if I have not received my certificate?

*Remember to add postage time from BDM (up to 6 days via Australia Post)

Certificate turnaround times are subject to certificate applications being complete, fully paid and containing certified proof of identity documents. The 'working on' date is the latest date that we receive all documents, including any additional proof of identity.

Multiple birth certificates ordered
If you ordered more than one copy of a birth certificate at the time you registered your baby's birth, each will be sent in its own envelope (except Registered Post). This will provide greater protection for the information contained within your certificates.
While the certificates ordered will leave BDM premises all on the same day, Australia Post may deliver the envelopes on different days.

**The date that BDM receives all paperwork from the marriage celebrant.

^Includes the legislated 28 calendar day cooling off period.

#Commemorative certificates are packaged and distributed by our community service partner. They will arrive separately to the standard certificates.

These times do not include applications submitted by 3rd parties (eg: lawyers, the State Revenue Office etc).
