Doctors and Funeral Directors must separately provide notifications to the Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages Victoria (BDM) following a death. In the case of a reportable death the Coroner must provide a notification to BDM as soon as practicable after receiving the notification from the doctor.

The statistics here relate to deaths registered in Victoria in January, February and March 2019.
