Check submitted notifications
In the top menu, select Notice of marriage >Submitted to view a list of all notifications you have submitted to BDM.
Status messages in the submitted list
In progress
For notifications: The data you submitted has been received and is currently being processed by BDM.
For certificates: The certificate has been ordered but not paid for.
Registered
The notification has been processed and the marriage is registered.
Complete
The certificate has been ordered and paid for.
Notification number
Quote this number when you contact us so we can quickly find the record.
If you see ‘To be assigned shortly’: When you submit the notification there is a short delay while the system assigns a number. Try refreshing the page if you can’t see it after about 20 seconds.
Corrections
You can request a correction if the marriage isn’t registered yet. Check the item’s status in the submitted list:
- In progress: Contact us as soon as possible with details of the correction, quoting the item’s notification number (in the submitted list).
- Registered: Only the couple can request a correction. Refer to Correct a marriage certificate.
